Frozen (2010) Review - A Refreshing Horror Movie

The story follows Dan, his girlfriend Parker, and his best friend Joe as they spend a weekend at a remote mountain ski resort. After a day of skiing, the trio persuades a ski lift operator to let them take one final run before the resort closes. Due to a series of miscommunications and oversights, the lift is shut down while the three are still high above the ground, leaving them stranded on the chairlift as night falls.

As the resort is closed until the following weekend and there are no staff or visitors left on the mountain, the friends quickly realize that help will not arrive anytime soon. The temperature drops rapidly, and the group is forced to confront freezing conditions, strong winds, and the threat of frostbite and hypothermia. Panic sets in as they debate their limited options for survival.

Desperation takes hold, and they must make life-or-death decisions. Their attempts to escape the lift lead to perilous consequences, including life-threatening injuries and encounters with hungry wolves drawn by their distress. Each character is pushed to their physical and emotional limits, revealing the strength of their friendship and their will to survive.

“Frozen” is notable for its suspenseful atmosphere and psychological tension, relying more on the characters’ fear and the harshness of the environment than on gore or supernatural elements. The film explores themes of survival, human vulnerability, and the instinct to persevere in the face of overwhelming odds.
